Diotima Centre

Diotima Centre is a women’s non-profit organization specialising in gender, equality, and gender-based violence issues, founded in 1989. Its vision is to highlight and eliminate gender discrimination, and its mission is to empower women and femininities. At the core of its work is the prevention and response to gender-based violence. During its many years of activity Diotima Centre supports survivors of gender-based violence by providing specialized legal assistance, psychosocial support, and professional counseling. Moreover, creates awareness and sensitization campaigns to foster a collective culture of zero tolerance for gender-based violence, implements training and awareness-raising activities on equality, gender rights, and gender-based violence while conducts empowerment initiatives and skills development programs for marginalized groups of women. In addition, undertakes advocacy initiatives, with the active participation of women themselves, to secure gender rights and promote changes in laws, policies, and practices that perpetuate gender inequalities. Lastly, it produces field research, formulates policy recommendations, and develops tools to promote gender equality.
